"Under The Rug"
I was sitting on my maroon colored arm chair, reading a book in the silence. Everyday after I get off work, this is what I do. I find it very calming and super relaxing. I would cuddle up in my blanket, and just read away, of course with my cup of tea right next to me. One late evening, I had been sitting on my arm chair when suddenly I caught something in the corner of my eye... my body stiffened up with fear in my eyes. Something underneath my rug had been moving towards me, so I jumped up and picked up my little side table, and smacked the big bump underneath the rug, and there was no noise. It was silent. I was very confused as to why there would be something else in my home, other than myself. Nothing ever appeared to be underneath the rug, after I walked it with a coffee table.
Everything had been fine for days after that and I haven't seen strange things, or heard strange noises. That is until two weeks later, after I heard a noise more towards the back of my house down the hallway, which sounded almost like a baby crying. And again, I live alone. All alone. I have no children. It's just me, myself, and I. My heart started pounding, and my body began to heat up and sweat. I slowly started walking down the hallway and by the room where I heard the crying coming from. The moment I turned the light on, the noise disappeared, and there was a big, big lump underneath the rug at the foot of the bed. I was so scared, tears started flowing out of my eyes, but my mouth couldn't seem to make a sound. I grabbed the two corners of the rug, and yanked it as hard as I could. I screamed with terror! There was an old woman dripping in blood, moaning just like a baby, and whining for help. I slammed the door shut and raced out the house to my car! Next thing I did was hurry straight to the police station.
